Remuera Rooftop

Rooftop garden with purple and pink flowers, green plants, and modern railings, surrounded by a suburban neighborhood.

A semi-extensive living roof is located on the new garage building. The Remuera Rooftop Garden supports biodiversity by contributing further green space to the property. The plant palette features an array of flowering species that contribute to the bee population supporting biodiversity. The colourful plant palette, varying textures and layout help dissolve the hard, angular surrounds.

The client approached Natural Habitats with a clear vision of a cottage garden style rooftop garden. We worked directly with the client to refine the plant palette to their preference.

As this was a small-scale private residence, there was no requirement for stakeholder engagement or an interdisciplinary response around species selection.
